Minister Homans,Vice minister-president of the Flemish Government and Flemish Minister for Public Governance, Civic Integration, Housing, Equal Opportunities and Poverty wants to exploit the economic benefits of open data. The minister invests in supporting businesses and startups that use Flemish Open Data to create innovative products or services. A competition was organized by the Flemish government, awarding the best professional initiatives for  developing applications on the basis of Flemish data.

We are proud to be one of the winners with GoOV. GoOV is developed by Lars Nieuwenhoff with a consortium of care and transport partners in the Netherlands.

GoOv makes it possible for people with learning disabilities or cognitive disabilities to travel independently using public transport (OV). Based on open data and the actual location of the bus, train or tram, the user receives on his mobile phone accurate travel instructions at the right time such as “Press the stop button” and “Get out now”. Watch the video to view how the application is used.

We are currently building a consortium of care providers and transport companies to test the application in Flanders and to evaluate the societal as well as economic impact for the end user. If you are looking a solution to provide your child, the inhabitants of your care center or even your students the opportunity to travel autonomously, please do not hesitate to contact us.
